    Locally, Cromer is known for its tasty crabs, which are famous throughout Norfolk and a delicious addition to any menu.  Just as famous, the traditional pier and stretches of beach that sit on the very edge of the North Norfolk coastline. and the brave men and women that protect it and its visitors, The RNLI service.  This donation funded service saves lives by providing a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service, seasonal lifeguards, water safety education and initiatives, and flood rescue response.  Take the time to visit the Henry Blogg Museum and learn about the history of the RNLI and how this crucial coastal emergency service operates in Cromer.

    Vibrant and full of character, Cromer is very proud of its local services, and you will not be able to find a chain coffee shop or restaurant in its town.  Instead, you are treated to local businesses ran by local people that all have great customer service at the heart of what they do.  The shopping in Cromer is mainly gifts and seasonal, however, there are plenty of lovely fashion shops to browse and the food stores are a great place to sample the very best of Norfolk’s local produce.   Pop down to the pier and try your hand at catching your own Crabs it is a must for young and old.  Also on the pier is the Pavillion theatre, which was originally destroyed in 1953 but was rebuilt by 1955 and has stood ever since.

    Blue flag beaches

    Cromer has not just one but two Blue Flag beaches and an award-winning coastal path, both of which attract visitors to return time and time again.  It is well linked with the surrounding areas, both by bus and by train which will take you to the nearby Norfolk Broads and the more modern city of Norwich.

    The Cromer Carnival brings the streets to life every summer attracting locals and visitors aplenty. The Amazona Zoo is situated on the outskirts of the town and is home to many of South African animals. The zoo has a wide selection including flamingos, monkeys and even a jaguar!

    Also, a beautiful place to visit is the Church Tower, which boasts 172 steps waiting to be climbed.  It is well worth the work though, as the views from the top are breathtaking.  On a clear day, you can see for miles, a spectacular aerial view of Cromer pier and the coastline.  If climbing isn’t your thing then why not try the Cliff Tops walk to Overstrand. The walk is one-and-a-half miles of stunning scenery, known as one of the best walkways in Norfolk.  The walk along the coast passes Cromer lighthouse and the Royal Cromer Golf Club, you will arrive in Overstrand. Take your camera for some excellent shots to take home. Make memories you can treasure here too.
