The Moorings is a Norfolk holiday cottage which overlooks the river Yare in the Norfolk Broads National Park. Using the boat supplied with the holiday cottage you could go up river and be in Norwich City Centre within an hour. Or you could travel downstream towards Yarmouth and explore the Mid-Yare National Nature Reserve and beyond. If you are keen on bird watching there is the nearby RSPB Strumpshaw Fen.

The Kitchen which overlooks the River Yare through a picture window, has all facilities including the expected appliances such as a dishwasher. There is a utility area with a washing machine and freezer by one of the rear doors.

There is also a well-equipped games room with snooker/pool table, darts board and a games console with games. This space has been used by many happy people and families over the years.

The lounge has an open log fire and makes for a great communal area or cosy winter warmer.

The dining area has a wooden vaulted ceiling. The dining table will seat 8 and leads to a conservatory on the back of the house with its own large sofa bed.

The Moorings consists of 3 bedrooms 2 with en-suite facilities and a further 2 separate sofa bed areas allowing sleeping arrangements to be made very flexible. Over part of the dining area is a mezzanine floor with another sofa bed.

The gardens are laid to lawn with mature shrubs and patios to the front and rear of the house.

The rear garden has a small patio adjacent to the private Hot Tub decked area.

The front patio has an open view of the river with open fields as a backdrop and is a great place to relax whilst watching passing boats.

The drive is laid to shingle and will easily hold 3 cars with lighting and space to turn around.

At the bottom of the drive and over a single track road is the private quay deck. This can be used in season for fishing, sunbathing or accessing the property’s private day boat.

Surrounding area of your Norfolk holiday cottage

Bramerton is a delightful small village of approximately 350 residents, a great location for a Norfolk holiday cottage. It sits on the southern bank of the River Yare just off the main Norwich to Lowestoft road.

The property is in a rural location but only a 200 metre walk from a pub which serves food. 10 minutes in the boat gets you to The ferry Inn which serves great food. It is good value and has tables and chairs to watch the river go by while you enjoy your meal. The whole area is a lovely environment for walking and cycling as there is very little traffic. The rural feel makes it hard to believe that you are very close to Norwich City.

The boat gives access to several riverside pubs or could be tied up at Norwich yacht station by the Norwich riverside complex at the entertainment heart of the city. Within walking distance from there, you could access most of the city, including the best shopping in the region. Please allow an hour by boat to reach Norwich.
