    Samphire Cottage

Samphire Cottage is a semi-detached cottage right beside the Stiffkey Marshes

It is set away from the normal tourist areas of the village providing a tranquil and restful holiday location.

    Kitchen
The hand painted country styled kitchen of Samphire Cottage comes fully equipped.  This includes a range style cooker with 8 gas burner hobs, a dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer.  There is also a microwave, kettle, toaster and all the culinary equipment that you could need.

The pine kitchen table seats 8 allowing for those cosy family meals and banter around the table.

The French doors at each end mean that breakfast may be taken on the east facing veranda while the sun rises and drinks may be taken on the west facing veranda whilst watching the sunset over the field.

    Living-room

Samphire Cottage has a great outside feel in summer.  The living room has 2 French doors that open onto the veranda, which then leads to the garden. This lets you sit back on one of the large comfortable sofas, watching your children and pets playing safely in the enclosed garden. There is also a large LCD TV with Freeview, DVD player and a selection of games for your entertainment.

    Bedrooms

All the bedrooms are furnished to provide that relaxed homely feel and sufficient storage for your belongings during your stay.

    • Downstairs:

The Double room offers a ranch style double bed with French doors opening onto the west facing veranda.
The bunk bedroom is the perfect room for children and adults alike with a view overlooking the rear garden.
    • Upstairs:

The spacious Master Double room also includes French doors that open to offer far reaching views which can be enjoyed from the king size bed, making it hard to get up in the morning. A solid wooden cot is provided for infants and the room shares an ensuite with the single bedroom.
The single bedroom has two ranch style single beds and is again an ideal room for either adults or children.

The ensuite, which consists of a shower, lavatory and basin, has been designed so that both upstairs bedrooms have direct access. The setup means that parents, that have their children staying in the adjoining single bedroom, may leave the doors between the rooms open if necessary.

The downstairs consists of a bath with overhead shower, lavatory and basin.

    Other Facilities:
Oil fired central heating – The combination boiler provides hot water on demand.
    Smoke Alarm System.
    Fire extinguishers and fire blanket.
    First Aid kit.
    Outside tap and hose.
    Stair gate.
    High chair.

    Please Note:

Due to the nature of the design of Samphire Cottage, wheelchair users may find that access is difficult.
Although we welcome dogs, we do request that they are kept off the furniture and not allowed upstairs.

All bed linen is provided but we request that guests bring their own towels.
Due to the timber structure of the cottage, we gratefully request that smoking is confined to the garden.

    Outside and garden

The garden is of a good size, and completely enclosed with fencing, and hedging in parts which is perfect for children and dogs. There is outside seating and BBQ, with front and rear covered verandas in case it’s too sunny or a little too wet to be outside.

    Surrounding area

Samphire Cottage is a semi-detached cottage and its setting is truly unique. You can’t possibly stay any closer to the famous National Trust’s Stiffkey Marshes than this unless you were to be in a tent! It is about a minute’s walk from the coastal path and a lovely ancient woodland walk which separates the land from the coastline and that famous marsh.  Stiffkey salt marsh comprises sandy creeks and beaches beyond and leads to the West side of Blakeney Point and that colony of seals accessible on foot at low tide.

The Stiffkey Village shop which is a haven of goodies including freshly baked bread serves fresh coffee. The Red Lion Pub is just a short walk away and is a free house with bundles of character, old beams, brick floors and roaring open fires.  In winter it is a great place to warm up and enjoy seasonal local seafood.

    Nearby

Nearby places to see include Wells-next-the-Sea, Blakeney Harbour, Sheringham and Holt.  A local attraction not to miss if you don’t get round to visiting Blakeney Point on foot would be the Seal Trip by boat.  If Stately Homes interest you, the closest would be Mannington Gardens, Felbrigg and Blickling.
